Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor Plans, directs and implements the accounts payable/receivable system. Sets up procedures for operation. Responsible for supervising the clerical personnel who perform the accounts payable function which includes coding invoices for proper payment, and checking prices, quantities and extensions, and clerical personnel who receive remittances, post proper accounts and prepare transmittal documents. Oversees the coding of data for inputting to financial data processing system. Monitors progress of work, and reviews results. Reconciles difficult report discrepancies. Makes up periodic reports summarizing business financial activities.
Work Settings
Office setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field and 1-3 years experience or two years college with courses in accounting, business, or equivalent experience and 3-5 years experience
