Plans, implements and administers environmental health, pollution and safety programs. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations. Specifies program operations for all materials and equipment used within the plant. Performs services to treat contamination and define exposure problems requiring action. Identify toxic agents in the location environment and estimate, in conjunction with supervision, a control program. Develop surveillance program for employees exposed to contamination in connection with medical department and recommend corrective action when surveillance shows overexposure. Monitor vent system performance, identify problems and recommend corrective action. Perform inspections to comply with proper examining procedures. Provide training sessions.
Work Settings
Office and manufacturing floor settings. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
