Customer Service Representative

There are two levels of customer service representatives. Level I handles customer inquiries for catalogue items. Follows through from receipt of order to shipment of goods to insure deliveries in accordance with promised dates. May assist on more complex orders under close direction. Level II customer service representatives Interprets and answers a broad range of customer inquiries. Obtains from proper sources information necessary to dictate quotations, proposals, etc. May correspond with customers regarding progress of orders placed, clarification of specifications, and such other matters as may require Customer Support and extensive product knowledge.

Work Settings

Office setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.

Education

High school diploma or GED
