Plant or Factory Manager - The Plant Manager’s main responsibilities center about the over-all management, direction and coordination of plant operations. These objectives are achieved in part by delegating authority to key subordinate supervisors in production, production control, cost accounting, methods maintenance and other related operations. Plant or Factory Superintendent - The Plant/Factory Superintendent’s responsibilities include supervision through supervisors and general supervisors of the manufacturing activities of the plant. In effect, this position is immediately subordinate to the plant Manager. Average salary $79,000/yr.

Board Chair/President/Group President/Division Director - People in these leadership positions determine the basic objectives of the organizational unit, formulate plans and policies, determine allocation of duties and authorities to subordinates and exercises controls to see that objectives are achieved in accordance with basic company policy. Fully accountable for the results of the activity for the unit. This is a very demanding position and individuals must be willing to devote significant time to all aspects of the job. Chief Operating Officer - The Chief Operating Officer directs and coordinates activities of the line and staff components of the organizational unit and is accountable for the full range of operations of the organizational unit. Average salary $166,000/yr.

Chief Operations Executive - The Chief Operations Executive is responsible for planning, controlling and coordinating the entire range of manufacturing activities of the organization. Average salary $136,000/yr.

The Chief Executive Officer -The Chief Executive Officer determines the basic objectives of the organizational unit; formulates plans and policies and allocates resources for the achievement of the objectives. Interprets and applies policies established by the owners of the enterprise or their representatives (Board of Directors, Trustees, etc.) Organizes the unit and determines allocation of duties and authorities to subordinates. Administrative Vice President - The Administrative Vice President directs and coordinates broad activities having as their purpose the planning, development and implementation of policies, programs and practices in support of the production, operating and marketing functions of the organization.
