Sells organization's products and/or services by interacting with established customers and developing new prospects. Maintains contacts primarily through telephone, correspondence or other means of telecommunications. Requires broad knowledge of organization's products and/or services and of marketing/sales techniques. Receive, discuss and edit orders received from customers and outside sales representatives. Refer technical or complex product selection matters to supervisor or others for final decision. Check conditions of sales, shipping and service instructions. May input order information into computer. Process change orders and maintain records and related information.
Work Settings
Office setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Associate's or bachelor's degree or high school diploma with some vocational training or job-related course work.
