Responsible for the entire range of marketing planning and development, sales promotion and sales activities of the organizational unit. Formulates, recommends, and implements policies and programs in the areas of sales, pricing, market and product or service acceptance research, and related activities. Many also have responsibility for customer relations or advertising. Typical position titles might include: Sales & marketing Vice President, Director of Sales & Marketing, etc.
Work Settings
Office with travel to meet with customers and suppliers. This is a very demanding position and individuals must be willing to devote significant time to all aspects of the job.
Education
Experience and education vary significantly based on the size of the business and the complexity of the segment; MBA may be required
