Responsible for installation and supervision of testing devices and procedures for products including raw materials to make sure they conform to specifications and quality standards. Confers with purchasing, customers, etc., regarding specifications, errors, problems, complaints, compliance with government regulations, etc. May visit customers or suppliers if necessary to solve problems. Prepares necessary reports. Conducts research on defects.
Work Settings
Office on or close to manufacturing floor. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years job related experience
