Quality Control Technician

Under direct supervision, assigns work, instructs, and coordinates the activities of the quality control section and assists with the application and monitoring of established inspection procedures and methods. Compiles, tabulates, and summarizes inspection data for analysis. Prepares and offers constructive criticism relative to variables and deviations from prescribed standards of quality. Maintains charts, graphs, and statistical records having to do with the quality, nature and causes of defects. Expedites and follows up on procedural changes, inspection applications. Acts as a liaison between quality control and the inspection department. Duties consist mainly of technical functions in support of basic engineering procedures.
Work Settings
Office on manufacturing floor. The average workweek is 40 hours. While many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day, this position usually works during first shift.
Education
Associates degree in technology or related field
