Keep miscellaneous parts, finished products, etc., flowing to and from accumulation areas and work stations according to production demands, models, types, transporters and shipping. Use such equipment as hand trucks, tote boxes, sacks, etc. May order supplies, count, tag, sort, record numbers, take daily inventory keep area orderly, and do other jobs as assigned. Drives forklift. May use overhead crane.
Work Settings
Warehouse, distribution center and/or manufacturing shop floor setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. Shift work and overtime is common. Many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day.
Education
High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; certified forklift driver
