Perform duties related to the removal of storage of material, parts, equipment, machinery or tools from or to a warehouse between loading platform and storage areas. Load or unload material, etc. from truck or freight car as required. May preserve items for storage as specified or directed. Count, identify, record and store items to be placed in or removed from warehouse. Operate fork-lift truck for movement of heavy items. Perform other related duties connected with a warehouse operation.
Work Settings
Warehouse, distribution center and/or manufacturing shop floor setting. The average workweek is 40 hours. Shift work and overtime is common. Many manufacturers operate 24 hours/day.
Education
May required OSHA training on shop/lift truck; High school diploma or GED
